Rebecca Spencer is a Broadway actress, award-winning recording artist, concert performer, and teaching artist based in Las Vegas. Her career spans Broadway, international theatre, concert and cabaret stages, and three solo recordings. She is known for her work in Jekyll & Hyde, The Phantom of the Opera, and Into the Woods, including an appearance as Jack’s Mother in the star-studded production of Into the Woods at the Hollywood Bowl.

Spencer is among the few performers to have been contracted for two principal roles in The Phantom of the Opera. She first appeared as Carlotta in the Hamburg, Germany production of Das Phantom der Oper, performing the role in German. Years later, director Hal Prince brought her back to create the role of Madame Giry in Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular and to launch the 25th Anniversary World Tour of The Phantom of the Opera in Asia.

Spencer also has a long history with Jekyll & Hyde. She originated the role of Lisa, later renamed Emma, in the world premiere at Houston’s Alley Theatre and subsequently returned to the production as an original Broadway cast member. She later assumed the principal role of Lady Beaconsfield and can be heard on several archival and original cast recordings.

Her other notable theatre work includes standing by for legendary Broadway performer Betty Buckley in Grey Gardens at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Beyond the stage, Spencer is a critically acclaimed recording artist and recipient of a Backstage Bistro Award. As an executive producer, she has released three solo recordings distributed by LML Music.

Originally performing in New York and Los Angeles and now based in Las Vegas, Spencer is recognized nationally and internationally for her lyric-mezzo voice and distinctive interpretations of contemporary art song, cabaret, classical repertoire, and the American Songbook. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Ithaca College and is represented by Fire Starter Entertainment.
